Hi lovelies! I first need to apologise for not having been posting recently but I've been super busy with our latest adventure: our home office! If you follow me on Facebook you probably already knew it as I've been sharing a few bits and pieces with you! More to follow about this project soon!
But now, let's go straight to today's subject: our home coffee/ tea station. {As this post is sooooo loaded with photos, I'll try and keep the writing to a minimum.}
Our station is located in a corner of our kitchen (you can see more pictures of this room in my Home Tour)
When we moved into our home a little over three years ago, I made sure things were stored in the cupboards where it would make more sense to place them. Cups and spoons should live close to our kettle and espresso machine, don't you agree?
The same applies to sugar, sweetener, tea bags, coffee and the all important vanilla syrup for our latte! I've chosen these Brabantia metal jars because they are fingerprints proofed. Very important!
As we are talking about lattes, let me quickly show you how we prepare them with an espresso machine without using shot glasses or the milk frother:
1) I fill half the mug with milk. I heat it up in the microwave for a minute. This way milk and cup come out nicely warmed. I don't froth my milk because I personally don't like half of my latte to be all froth with no taste. The espresso machine will already create a nice, dense, thin layer of "crema" as Italians call the froth from the coffee.
2) I remove the metal bit that sits on top of the drip tray. Put the coffee in the tray and put the warm cup with the milk directly into the drip tray and I get the machine started!
Easy no? This way I prepare my latte by only using one cup. (Although we have a dishwasher, I'm always trying to "economize" the use of crockery!)
But let's not forget that I live in the UK and a lot, lot, lot of people are more into tea than coffee; so I always aim to have a variety of these infusions available at home. I keep them in a clear container in a different cupboard.
And that's it! This is where we prepare our coffees at home every morning and afternoon (this afternoon coffee in Argentina is called "merienda" and it's what hubby and I look forward to -among other things- when we come back from work every day)
So, are you a coffee or a tea person? Maybe both??
By the way, did you notice that at the top right of the sidebar on this page there is a set of icons with links to my Facebook, Twitter, E-mail and Pinterest account? (Insert wink-wink here) Feel free to follow me along if you fancy what you've seen so far!

ReplyDeleteWe totally love both tea and coffee in our house. I recently revamped things to create an area with both kinds of drinks too. I loved what you did here...so great!
