Home Tour - Home Office Reveal

Today I'm sharing with you another room in our house that we recently finished decorating: our half home office, half second guest bedroom.

There are two heroes in this room. One of them is this wall that we painted in Dulux Teal Facade from their "Travels in Colour" range (City Getaway). In this range Dulux did the hard work of putting a harmonious colour palette together for you. That's what I call easy peasy decorating!;)

The other hero is this beautiful oak desk from Furniture4yourhome. Now let me just say I never thought  of ordering furniture online before. It really scared the poopie out of me but these guys made it plain sailing. They sent me extra photos of the desk I fell in love with. I asked their customer service person if the bottom shelf could be fixed higher up and they not only confirmed it,
but they also did it for me! The desk arrived a couple of weeks later through a delivery service I've never heard of before and to be honest it was a little slow considering the desk was in stock but hey! In the past I have had to wait for months with other suppliers for furniture to cross the ocean from the other side of the planet so two weeks is not a big deal.

We added some shelving above the desk for all those pretty things that make me smile everytime I enter the room and also for the ones  that I need to have handy while doing some bloggy work up there.

The chair was a bargain I found online for only £28! (Insert big grin here).

Now I'll swiftly direct you to the other side of the room. The one with a guest bed (the bottom bit can come up to make a double bed) The whole office decor has been inspired by one of Destinology's holiday destinations: a New York loft look  is what I was going for. This is the side of the room where the items that bring that decor style all live together.

I hope you enjoyed the visit and please let me know if I have missed anything that you'd like to know about!

  4. I love that desk, it's gorgeous, and the teal paint is just my cup of tea. I'd love an office area, but our office is being used as a larder! Whoever planned the house design didn't put one in which was a major error.
